Remember all those dresses that my mom made way back when? Well, one thing led to another and somehow we were lucky enough to find a gallery that was interested in doing an exhibit with the dresses. Above is the postcard that we just got printed up. We are auctioning off the dresses and we really hope they all go to loving homes.

We already got an article in the Seattle Times and you can read it here. It sums up the inception and concept of the show nicely and the only slightly incorrect part is that my mom and I will both have artwork in addition to the dresses, not just me.

Here's a sampling of the dresses. This is the picture that accompanied the article in the print version, but it wasn't online for some reason:

As you can imagine, with just three weeks to go I am busy, busy, busy. Then there's Christmas to prepare for and oh, my head is about to explode. I am so excited though. If I get a chance, I'll post little sneak peaks of my paintings. Back to work!

I've been neglecting my blog duties. There was Thanksgiving, of course. A quiet dinner with just the three of us: cornish game hen, cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, steamed green beans, pumpkin pie and chocolate cake, all made from scratch, thank you very much. Before that was a computer virus that totally took over my computer.

And then there's this other thing...the kimono dress (it zips up in the back) is a sneak peak into the project I've been working on that I'll talk more about later. Here's the back of the kimono:

What's been happening in Koom Koom land? I really can't remember much at this point. Potty training is going extremely well and we are almost completely diaper-free. It takes a couple of weeks to fill up our diaper pail, which is fantastic.

Her language is exploding and she is such a little girl now -- the baby, I am sad to admit, is officially gone. She says things like "Choking hazard, Mommy" while pointing at a picture of little candies. When I am sad, she hugs me then pats me on the shoulder and tells me, "It's OK. It's OK." She likes to tell me little stories about her dolls and books and stickers and friends. She can dress and undress herself for the most part. She even tries to put on her own diaper when she's not in the "big girl underwear" mood. Fiercely independent, dramatically emotional, overwhelmingly affectionate and ceaselessly vocal -- my 28-month-old is a force to be reckoned with.
