My mom got Kumiko the Minimum Wage Ugly Doll -- it's the red one with the apron. Here, she is gazing fondly at Minimum Wage. A couple of dear friends also got Kumko Moxy, the green bunny Ugly Doll behind Wage. I love them. Perhaps I'll collect them all and snatch them from Kumiko before they get covered in drool.

I just created a Flickr set with Kumiko photos. I'm pretty impressed with myself as I've literally accomplished this single-handedly while feeding the bottomless pit that is my daughter.

Time flies. These last thirteen days have been a blur and aside from a couple of short jaunts outside, most of my time has been spent breastfeeding on our living room couch. No one warns you that the afterbirth pains will render you incapacitated. My mom has been cooking up all my favorite Japanese comfort foods and doing laundry and taking care of us -- I don't know what we would have done without her. Kumiko becomes lovelier with each day. It has been a week of sleep deprivation, intense emotions, enormous learning curves. We are totally in love with our daughter and are thrilled beyond belief.
