The terrible twos are raging over here. Though the tantrums have subsided, there is a willful refusal to do anything requested. I'll take toddler battles over asthma attacks though, which wracked Koom Koom's poor little body all through February.

But we found the right medication combo, and she hardly coughs anymore. Apparently she has a form of allergic asthma that is triggered when she catches a cold or is exposed to allergens like pollen. Now she runs around and plays and enjoys art like she used to and we are all so much happier.

Her new thing is "Hey Mommy?". She begins every sentence with those two words. She is able to form quite complex sentences now and we have long conversations (mostly about Dora the Explorer, it seems) full of twists and turns. She loves wearing dresses and requests a different "pretty dress" every day. On some days she likes to wear her Halloween costume from last year, and zooms around the apartment, pretending to fly. Her ability to express her imagination is blossoming and I love her "pretend" games involving her many stuffed animals.
But the most remarkable part is her hair. I mean, is it just me, or does this girl have A LOT of hair? I used to trim her bangs, but now that I've been letting them grow out, I had no clue as to how I should cut her unruly curly, heavy hair. She had her first (professional) haircut this weekend and though I felt it was a bit extravagant, I thought I would be able to learn how to cut her hair for the future. Kumi loved it. She didn't fidget at all, even when they shampooed her hair -- you'd think she'd been getting her hair professionally styled since she was born. She absolutely loved sitting in the little car that doubled as the salon chair and actually listened to the stylist's instructions to tilt her head this way and that. Amazing. And a little disconcerting -- I hope she doesn't think she's going to get the salon treatment all the time!
