Makeover Part 2
Remember the $3 coffee table I bought at a garage sale? It was in sorry shape, covered in candle wax and glitter, full of sticky tape residue.
For weeks, the table sat outside our back door, awaiting its transformation. Oh sure, I eagerly sanded it down the first couple of days, but sanding is very hard work, I quickly discovered. And the weather was just too nice or not nice enough or a pie needed to be baked...the truth is, I forgot about it.
What I really needed was a talented and indefatigably industrious mother who happened to be visiting during the month of June. Before I could say "there's this table..." my mama was fast at work, sanding and staining away. Here she is, my new-to-me coffee table, glorious in her American Walnut veneer.
Kumi's dollhouse rests at perfect height on this little beauty and many happy hours are spent giving all her Ava dolls baths and potty-time (Kumi names all her dolls Ava for some reason).

Thank you Mama. Without you, the table probably would never have stepped foot inside the apartment again.
