IF: Wide

I have wide feet. Actually, I used to have extra wide feet and it was always a problem because none of the super cute shoes would fit me. Wider shoes are usually labeled with "B" (as in "7B") or with the blatant "W". Let me tell you, it was slim pickings and I often ended up with orthopedic looking loafers.

Then I had a child and I went from size 8.5 to 7, and my feet narrowed down. A very unusual phenomenon indeed. Ironic really, since I only wear one pair of shoes now -- shoes that can chase after a toddler all day long.

Wonderful drawing and story Sanae, I hope your choices for footwear are expanding as your feet are shrinking!

What the?! Smaller?! Bizarre. People warned me about bigger feet. Something about the body releasing a chemical to make your hips (and by extension, all your joints) more malleable for the birthing process. I think my feet are slightly bigger. I could never wear pumps before because my bony heel would slip out. 8 months post-delivery, suddenly, I can! One of the little known perks of pregnancy I guess. Thanks for sharing!

Love the soft gentle drawing and was entertained by the discussions of the effect of child bearing on the feet! A drastic sort of cosmetic surgery.
